Lauren M. Levine has over twenty years of experience advising and representing clients in disputes involving various areas of employment law. She defends clients before administrative agencies and state and federal courts against numerous types of employment claims including age, race, gender, national origin, disability, harassment, whistleblower laws, leave laws, breach of employment contract, restrictive covenants and defamation. Lauren also regularly advises clients on human resources matters such as reviewing and developing internal policies and procedures, developing and presenting training related to sexual harassment and other human resources issues, conducting employee investigations, performance management and discipline, hiring and firing and accommodations.
Lauren’s practice also focuses on representing hospitals, physicians, medical boards and trustees in medical staff credentialing and peer review matters, including intra-hospital hearings and appeals, related administrative proceedings, and litigation arising from the peer review process. Lauren counsels and represents physicians in professional conduct proceedings in both New York and New Jersey.
Garfunkel Wild attorneys have once again been selected by their peers for inclusion in the 2023 edition of Super Lawyers.
After more than 10 years of highly contentious litigation, Garfunkel Wild won summary judgment dismissal in the trial court, and prevailed against the surgeon’s appeal.

Garfunkel Wild secured a significant victory in obtaining dismissal of a multi-million dollar suit based on its filing of a report with the National Practitioner Data Bank that a physician resigned while under investigation.

A Texas Federal Judge issued a decision blocking the FTC’s proposed ban on non-compete agreements, which was set to go into effect on September 4, 2024. As previously reported, the Texas Federal Court had issued a preliminary injunction limiting the enforceability of the FTC’s non-compete ban for the individual plaintiff in that lawsuit only. The Judge has now expanded that ruling nationally – preventing the FTC non-compete ban from going into effect.
