Dr. Shawn Garber is the founder and CEO of Strive Surgical. Over more than 25 years, he built New York Bariatric Group into the country’s leading bariatric surgery provider: 29 locations across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, three ambulatory surgery centers, and over 45,000 patients treated.

He is now leading one of the more consequential pivots in the specialty. As GLP-1 medications, telehealth entrants, and rising patient acquisition costs reshape demand, Dr. Garber is transforming a single-specialty practice into a multi-specialty surgical platform, launching orthopedics and spine under the Strive Surgical brand and shifting volume toward outpatient procedures performed in owned ASCs.
