Brent Stackhouse
Brent Stackhouse is a seasoned strategic investor and health care leader, currently serving as Managing Director of Mount Sinai Ventures, the investment arm of the Mount Sinai Health System in New York City. In this role, he concentrates on early-stage medical venture investments and corporate development, where he builds and operates care-delivery private equity joint ventures. He represents Mount Sinai on the boards of a dozen portfolio companies, and is the president of five operating entities. Brent is also a lecturer in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Bioinformatics and Data Science program, sharing his expertise with the next generation of researchers and clinicians.
In addition to his Mount Sinai duties, Brent is a Senior Partner at Spex Capital, a UK-based early-stage health tech venture fund. He founded and oversees the Strategic Ventures Group, a national consortium of corporate venture investors spanning more than 60 hospitals, coordinating collaboration and strategic investment across the health care ecosystem.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Brent contributes to global education philanthropy as a board member of Insegnare per l’Italia (Teach for Italy) and participates in the Georgetown Angel Investor Network, fostering innovation and mentorship in early-stage founders.
