Garfunkel Wild’s Kristen M. Walsh will present at the New York State Bar Association Young Lawyers Section: Annual Meeting 2021 on January 27, 2021.
Ms. Walsh will be a panelist on the session “Estate Planning for the Young Professional.”
Every young professional, shortly after landing his or her first job, and especially if starting a family, must engage in estate planning. The decision to execute estate planning documents can be stressful and overwhelming but doing so is essential for the personal and financial well-being of a young professional. The goal of this program is to educate young lawyers on various planning documents, the benefits of having these safeguards in place, and the potential consequences of being without them under New York law. We will cover the following estate planning tools: Power of Attorney, Health Care Proxy, Living Will, Last Will and Testament, and Beneficiary Designations.
