OIG Approves Referral Model for FQHC
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Inspector General (OIG), issued a favorable Advisory Opinion (25-02) regarding a federally qualified health center’s (FQHC) proposal to offer to schedule primary care physician appointments for certain individuals who are already receiving non-medical help from the FQHC.
CMS Extends SNF Revalidation Deadline
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) extended the previous deadline of May 1, 2025 to August 1, 2025, for skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) to provide ownership and management information as well as information about other parties with which the SNFs are associated and the ownership structures of those parties.

Court Strikes Down Federal Nursing Home Minimum Staffing Mandate: What Facilities Need to Know
On April 7, 2025, a federal judge struck down the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) federal nursing home Minimum Staffing Mandate implemented in May 2024 (Final Rule). Aimed at improving quality of care, the Final Rule required 3.48 hours per resident day of patient care, but most notably required that nursing homes have a Registered Nurse (RN) on site 24/7.

FinCEN Reporting Obligations End for Domestic (US) Entities
Following months of uncertainty surrounding the future of the Corporate Transparency Act’s (CTA) beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting requirements, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) published an interim final rule (Interim Rule) on March 21, 2025 that removes the requirement for U.S. companies and U.S. persons to submit BOI reports to FinCEN under the CTA.

CTA Reporting Requirements Partially Suspended
In a surprising new development that comes just days after a temporary ban on the Corporate Transparency Act’s (CTA) beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting requirements was lifted, the U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury Department), Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) announced in a March 2nd press release that it will not enforce the BOI reporting requirements against U.S. citizens and domestic reporting companies.
