We are pleased to announce that Doris L. Martin, partner/director at Garfunkel Wild, P.C. has been selected to the 2016 Top 50 Women in the New York Metro Super Lawyers list. This is an exclusive list, recognizing no more than five percent of attorneys in the New York Metro Area.
Martin leads Garfunkel Wild’s Personal Services and Estate Planning Practice Group. She advises clients on estate planning and administration, charitable giving, elder law, tax-exempt organizations, and qualified retirement plans. She has particular experience in estate planning for physicians.
Martin has served on New York City Bar Association committees and participates in the City Bar Justice Center’s Planning and Estates Law Project, which provides pro bono assistance to individuals seeking assistance with Surrogate Court filings for estates. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Douglaston-Little Neck Historical Society and formerly served on the board of directors of North Shore Child and Family Guidance, a mental health care provider on Long Island.
Martin is a life-long resident of Douglaston, New York, where she lives with her husband and two children. After graduating from Benjamin Cardozo High School, she attended Smith College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and cum laude, and New York University School of Law, where she was the Executive Editor of the Law Review.
