David E. Zabell, M.D. is a Partner at Garfunkel Wild, P.C., which he joined in 2011. He is a co-chair of the firm’s E-Health & Telemedicine practice group and a member of the firm’s Health Care, Business, Health Care Information & Technology, and HIPAA Compliance practice groups, which advise clients on a wide range of business, commercial, regulatory (Federal and State), and transactional matters.

Mr. Zabell holds dual degrees in law and medicine, providing a unique perspective to clients in the healthcare space. His practice includes the representation of providers (including hospital systems, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, skilled nursing facilities, pharmacies, durable medical equipment providers, laboratories, etc.), investors and other healthcare industry-related clients (e.g., vendors, consultants, etc.).

Mr. Zabell has a particular expertise in advising clients with respect to emerging healthcare technologies / delivery systems and other early-stage initiatives.

Prior to joining Garfunkel Wild, Mr. Zabell was an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he was a member of Simpson Thacher’s corporate practice group with an emphasis on private equity and alternative asset management.

Mr. Zabell received his B.S. in Biology from the University of Michigan in 1999, his MD from New York Medical College in 2003 and his J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School in 2006, where he was a Notes & Comments Editor of the Brooklyn Law Review.
