Sean P. Leyden joined the firm in 2003 and is Chair of the firm’s Real Estate and Construction Practice Group. Sean’s practice focuses on real estate and corporate transactions, as well as in representing tax-exempt organizations, hospitals, physicians, physician groups and other health care providers.
Sean has extensive experience in commercial leasing (representing both landlords and tenants); subleasing (representing both sublandlords and subtenants); commercial real estate financing (representing both borrowers and lenders), including fee and leasehold financing, permanent and construction financing and mezzanine financing; the purchase and sale of commercial real property nationwide, including office, residential and commercial buildings and vacant land for development; and the purchase and sale of residential property (including cooperative and condominium apartments).
In addition, Sean has considerable experience in complex corporate mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships, as well as routine business and personal matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Sean was an associate for six years in the commercial real estate department of a New York City law office.
Before embarking on his legal career, Sean was an Assistant Vice President in the Credit and Risk Management Department at a financial firm, where he oversaw the company’s counterparty trading risk for fixed income products.
