Robert B. Koonin is a Senior Attorney at Garfunkel Wild, P.C., which he joined in 2011. He is a member of the firm’s Commercial Real Estate, Finance and Health Care Information & Technology Practice Groups.
Mr. Koonin's practice focuses on Commercial Real Estate transactions, including the leasing, acquisition and disposition of real estate, as well as the acquisition and sale of health care facilities and other businesses, including the purchase and sale of nursing homes. In addition to his Real Estate practice, Mr. Koonin represents borrowers and lenders in all aspects of commercial financings. He also handles a wide array of other matters, including design and construction service agreements, and the licensing and distribution of software, hardware and other medical technology rights, software and related products.
A graduate of Union College (B.A. in Political Science, Dean’s List, 2004), Mr. Koonin earned his J.D. in 2009 from Brooklyn Law School, where he was Articles Editor for the Brooklyn Journal of Corporate, Financial and Commercial Law and a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. While at Brooklyn Law School, he received the Outstanding Student Advocate Award.
Mr. Koonin was previously an Associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and Senior Vice President of Legal Affairs at the Nevada-based software company, Metric Gaming, LLC.
