Alex Santee is the Co-Chair of Garfunkel Wild’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group. Alex represents clients in all aspects of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, joint ventures, and other strategic relationships. Alex represents clients in many different industries, and has significant experience representing physicians and physician groups, physician management companies, private equity-backed platforms, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and other clients in the healthcare industry. Alex advises on all stages of the M&A process, from the term sheet to closing. He expertly and efficiently manages transactional signings and closings, and is a seasoned negotiator on all types of transaction documents. Alex also advises on business structuring, and all types of organizational and other agreements for practices and health care facilities.

The final budget for fiscal year 2023-2024 passed this week by the New York State legislature requires certain health care entities to pre-notify the Department of Health (the “Department”) of “material transactions” that meet certain financial thresholds.
The New York State Executive Budget for fiscal year 2024 includes a proposed law to review and approve material transactions involving physician practices, Management Services Organizations (MSOs), and other health care entities.
