Biography
Elisabeth A. Pimentel advises health care providers on a wide range of corporate and regulatory issues. She regularly represents clients with respect to affiliations and mergers, provider and physician practice acquisitions, creation of medical foundations, and provider and physician professional services agreements and employment agreements. Her regulatory practice encompasses Certificate of Need matters before the Connecticut Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Office of Health Strategy; licensure matters before the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, and DPH; Connecticut Medicaid audits; and assisting nonprofit organizations with governance questions and federal and state tax-exemption issues. Lis previously served as the Interim Risk Manager in-house at a large academic medical center where she provided day-to-day risk management advice.

Prior to practicing law, Lis was a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Alfred V. Covello and for six years was an officer in the United States Navy where she conducted research in the field of medical education and simulation-based training technology.

Lis serves on the American Health Law Association’s Women’s Leadership Council.
