Weston P. (“Wes”) Harty is a member of Garfunkel Wild’s Mergers and Acquisitions, Emerging Companies, IP and Trademark, and Technology and Cybersecurity practice groups. Wes also has a role in the development of Garfunkel Wild’s associate training program curriculum.
Wes’ varied practice focuses on negotiating and facilitating corporate transactions including venture financing, mergers, acquisitions, and enterprise sale transactions; and forming and growing multi-state management and professional practice entities. Wes also concentrates his practice counseling on commercial and corporate governance matters for his for-profit and not-for-profit clients. In this space, he advises on HIT transactions; intellectual property development, licensing, and collaboration arrangements; research and clinical trial agreements; and related regulatory and compliance matters.
Wes joined Garfunkel Wild in 2019 from the Mergers and Acquisitions practice group of a North Carolina firm where he focused on general corporate transactional and commercial matters.
- Assisted a group physician practice in unwinding a joint venture with a hospital system and its subsequent affiliation with a nationwide provider group.
- Represented an emerging life sciences start-up secure venture capital financing.
- Facilitated the affiliation of several professional practices with hospital and private equity-backed provider groups.
