CMS Long Term Care Requirements: Emergency Preparedness Update
This webinar will provide an overview of the steps nursing operators and administrators should take in the implementation of the new federal emergency preparedness regulations.
CMS’s overhaul of the federal regulations for long term care facilities incorporated a comprehensive emergency preparedness regulation that became effective on November 15, 2016, with an implementation date of November 15, 2017. Regardless of the implementation deadline, recent disasters serve as a reminder of the importance of having a detailed and workable emergency plan in place to protect the lives and safety of vulnerable residents. This webinar will provide a deeper look at the four core elements of the CMS emergency preparedness regulation – emergency plan, policies and procedures, communication plan, and training and testing – as they apply to nursing homes.
